Cry Me a River by Duane Francis
I will cry me a river every day,
Until I have a love that will stay.
I’ll cry me a river every night,
And pray for two arms to hold me tight.
I will cry me a river for I’m a lonely man,
Until I have someone loves me for who I am,
I will cry me a river for as long as it takes,
Till I have someone to soothe my heartaches.
This is a love poem, I wrote many years a go. Simple and to the point I would like to think.
It was inspired by a song of the same name (”Cry Me a River“) done by the late soul crooner Sam Cooke and written by Arthur Hamilton . Of course I put my twist on it.
Does Love Miss me? ….
Today I want to show some poetry love. This poem is by my friend the Marvalus One. I think she is a great poet even though she would viciously debate that but nevertheless I love her work.
This is a love poem from a woman who asks “Does Love Miss me” . I have never quite heard that type of twist in a love poem. I say it’s a pretty creative one and some darn good poetry. Lots of Love Marvalus One .
Does love miss me ?
Does love miss me
Like I miss love
Does love know all the
Sh*t that I’m now free of?
I’m ready now, my heart is open
I’m in love with myself
I know who I am
Isn’t that the goal, to first find yourself?
Should I let love find me
Or go searching about
I asked the Lord
But His answer I can’t figure out
I’ve made terrible mistakes in the past
I’ve asked for forgiveness and forgiven myself too
I live a peaceful live
I just want love to fall into
I want to feel like
I’m floating 10-feet high
Like I’m floating
On puffy white clouds high in the sky
I want to wake in the morning
With a smile on my face
Just knowing
That today, I’ll feel love’s embrace
But I won’t settle for less than I deserve
Because I’m a queen
And queens deserve kings
Who don’t play or demean
So I’ll wait until the Lord sends him
Because I know he’ll be true
And then I can say
“Hello, Love, I no longer miss you
