Jamaica has produced some really talented comedians and poets. (yours truly included. LOL). Now watch what happens when top Jamaican comedian Blacka Ellis gets in to his own poetry vibe. He is performing a poem entitled “Gateman” which really is a humorous look at an individual who has been given the power to monitor the entrance to a venue. The poem is delivered in patois (Jamaican dialect), and reminds me of the poetry the first lady of Jamaican Poetry, Dr. The Honorable Louise Bennett- Coverly (September 7 1919 - July 26 , 2006)

Bob Marley goes to Hollywood!

Someone is finally doing it. Yes! After more than 25 years after his death, Reggae Icon, Bob Marley’s story is on its way to the silver screen.

Independent American film studio, The Weinstein Company has acquired the rights to develop, produce, and distribute the first ever biopic about Marley. The film is expected to begin production in 2009. This will be based on his widow Rita’s autobiography, “No Woman No Cry: My Life with Bob Marley.” Read more
