Your touch on my shoulder feels surreal.
Something in me reaches to hold on to its transience,
but the moment is lost forever. Like our yesterday.
Walls erected now come tumbling down - momentarily.
I turn, my gaze already lowered, deliberately,
so that your own won’t pierce and capture my soul. Again.
My lips - do you remember them? - curve upwards. A syllable escapes.
Now, you’re no longer an unfathomable stranger.
