Born to Win- Duane Francis

I’m a winner
I’m a star
Watch me shine
I’m a winner
I’m a star
The world is mine

Don’t try to take my dreams away
Because I’m gonna make it anyway
You can’t stop me or anyone else
Because I have confidence in myself

‘Cause
I’m a winner
I’m a star
Watch me shine
I’m a winner
I’m a star
The world is mine

A Poem for the Children

I wrote this poem several years ago for a kindergarten class my girlfriend at the time was teaching in the Bronx , New York. They were supposed to perform the poem at a function at the time. I was told they handled it very well. However it didn’t stop there. I went for a visit to New York some months later and as I sat in the class waiting for my lady and the next thing I knew these kids were reciting my poem. Then the teacher told them to turn around and look at Duane Francis the man who wrote the poem. Not only did the give me the brightest “Hello Mr Francis “ I have ever heard. They came over and the hugged me. I honestly had to fight back tears. It turns out these kids were saying this poetry every single morning after prayers as part of there routine. Imagine that my poem! So now feel free to send this one to a child or six hundred. Send and Show some love!

Great poem of courage and confidence, both of which children should be full of. I know that you must have felt blessed to hear them speaking your words, how fulfilling.

Have a wonderful and blessed weekend!
