The truth about heroes

Picture it! He is surrounded, no where to run. He is armed with a dagger and surrounded by the bad, guys. With lightning fast moves he takes out one dozen armed men runs out of a burning building with a child in one arm and a furry little kitten in the other . Of course he comes out with a slight bruise over his left eye. And the crowd cheers this hero. He comes out in the streets kisses a girl and then the movie credits come up. Yay the hero has done it again and blah blah blah.
Now lets talk about real heroes. Not your Rambo or Bruce Willis Die Hard 4 types but real heroes, real Jamaicans. The ones making a difference day to day. These are the ones who never get action figures named after them or never get a statue built in their honor. Some may never even get National honors or recognition. They are the quiet hardworking ones with the never say die attitude.

• The Ministers of Religion (The real ones not those trying to milk poor folks money with promises of eternal life) I mean those who who try to be there for those who need them, even outside “working hours” and even when they are sick. Although they are but humans, they are never allowed to have an off day and are expected to be 100 percent every time. Whew!!

• The dedicated police officer who puts his life online everyday to protect us all.

• The single mother who sends her kids to school while she works minimum wage and she just keeps on going.

• The man who still farms the land despite the hardship against him.

• They ghetto kid who turns his back on the guns and drugs and tries to find another way.

Real Jamaicans, Real heroes. It go so!!
