He Hit her again?…. Nope Not on my watch!!
I wont get into the psychology of a male abuser because my feeble mind may not be able to understand matters of such complexity. But I will say this, I do have issues with a man who believes that a woman is to be abused.
How can I put this gently “Brother what the hell yuh thinking bout” ok let me calm down. Maybe you’re not sure you are a man so you have to hammer the sister to remind yourself.
Duppy know who fi frighten
Oh boy this one is going to be a doozy! Usually abuse is about asserting your power. I guess if you don’t understand that you can be powerful without abusing a sister then you clearly have no business in a relationship.
Its funny how these brothers have strength to beat on their women but never seem to have it to even think of trying to beat on another brother of equal strength. Hmm why is that?
I will tell you why. There is a Jamaican Proverb that says Duppy know who fi frighten.
Meaning people know who they dare to take on and who not to.

Yeah I have issues with those who choose not to get involved. Those who choose to “hear and deaf and se and blind”. I don’t care, “aint nobody be beating down any female and I turn a blind eye”. Maybe because I have two sisters and the thought of a man hitting anyone well lets say or rather lets not say what the outcome of that would be.
Calling All Real Men
For me to know what’s happening and not do a thing is equivalent to the guy in this video below.But more than getting all confrontational It’s about taking a stand to cut off the many heads of this Hydra. So my weapon is poetry. Sharper than a samurai sword, and a cane cutters cutlass, dis is ya Jamaican poet ready for the slaying.
Abuse is not a woman’s issue ( I am not even touching the males who are abused in relationships that is another issue in itself) it’s is an Us issue.
This is one Jamaican poet who will stand up against violence against our Sisters, our Empresses, Our Queens. Much more to come on this matter because I have only just begun. Later
