LSX Launches “Word A Thro”
It was quite a long drive down to Treasure beach St Elizabeth on Friday, May 25th. After driving for hours with great conversation and jokes aplenty we finally arrived at the Wild Onion Restaurant at about ten o clock in the night. It was the album launch of Spoken word trio LSX. My traveling companions and I suffering from jet lag (or would that be van lag?) managed to summon enough energy to deliver high energy performances at the venue.
The night started out with these amazing drummers from Portland, who literally set the night on fire with ancestral drumming and chanting. The hypnotic sounds were enough to make nearby residents come out and partake of this artistic feast.
Despite starting at midnight (2 hrs late) the night featured great performances by yours truly Duane” Snypa” Francis, the delightful Gina Rey Forest, Viva! , Spirit, the hardworking Charley Bobos and of course the men of the night Lynch, Sage and X aka. LSX.
The audience lapped it all up and still wanted more. One man approached me and declared that it was the first time he had experienced anything like that. He went on say that he had no idea poetry was this entertaining. So Nuff respect to LSX on a job well done. Soon I will be featuring “Word A Thro”
