A Hair Raising Idea
I had a conversation with a friend of mine yesterday. We talked about the days when we thought a woman with her natural hair was “country” and not beautiful. Of course we were young and foolish then. Now that we have matured we gained the wisdom to know that the most beautiful women are those comfortable with their natural look.
For me it says a lot about her character especially in world where beauty is superficial. (don’t know if I am explaining that right but I will try) But when she chooses to wear her dreadlocks or an afro or some Nubian knots she will turn my head anytime.
Nuff respect to the Black Queens who are not afraid to wear their hair, all natural. I know I may get some heat from those who will tell me about manageability etc. but hey I make no apologies I know what I love to see.
Here are two great articles I found on black women and their hair and of course they came from two of my favourite bloggers. Marvia and
Alice.

Rootz,
Once again I love the way you tell it like it is. Wat a ting when we come of age..lol!
I have much more coming on the hair issue. It’s something we women of African descent are still struggling with in relation to our Black men accepting us with our hair natural. The process of re-educating women about their hair will also have to include the men who generally do not find such women attractive.
Thanks for sharing this.
